Space is a constraint that is beginning to hit us these days. With an ever rising population, the demand for space is only bound to increase with time. In this post we feature some intelligent space saving furniture that would be ideal for small space living.

We are pretty much sure that Bonbon Trading has been inspired by the Transformers movie in making this outstanding piece of furniture. Sofa for the living room doubles up as a bunkbed! How cool is this?

And space saving furniture always needn’t be folded up to save space. Mebel furniture series by designer Daniel Milchtein Peltsverger is a case in point. These ergonomically designed stackable chairs made of molded plastic are ideal for hotel and office lobbies.





We have looked at space saving for the living, kitchen and the bedroom but aren’t we missing one place? Yep, you guessed it – The Bathroom.



The sink in a drawer is a cool idea IF(and that is a BIG if) you have space to play with in the room adjacent to the bathroom.
Here is another more radical way to conserve space in the bathroom, infact it is more like a vertical micro bathroom.



Paul Hernon of Design Ltd calls it the Vertebrae. The Vertebrae packs a toilet, sink, two shower modules (one for children), storage space for shower, bath, shaving, and cosmetic products right along the column. Each component is a swingable module that can be used when needed.

More Themed Hotel Rooms

Sometimes, hotels can provide excellent inspiration for home. If you remember, we had previously featured an interesting hotel having some bizarre themes. Here is something more for you. These shots are from Fox Hotel, Copenhagen. 21 international artists from the fields of graphic design, urban art and illustration turned Hotel Fox to a piece of art with unique individual themes for its 61 rooms.

Bachelor Pads

Bachelor pads are notoriously stereotyped as messy, poorly taken care of places with clothes carelessly strewn about floors and with refrigerators populated with stale food. These places are portrayed to be occupied with men with a hedonistic approach to life that’s all about having fun and very little to do with life’s mundane chores which often disgusts women related to or involved with them. Okay, if the last part alarmed you a bit, this post is for those men out there who definitely want to make a difference or at least go down trying! ;)

Tips for a Bachelor’s Pad

1. Get it into your subconscious that it is ‘uncool’ to be messy. Having said that it never was a turn-on to anybody, anyway.

2. You probably already own everything you need. Everything just needs to be in the right place and in order.

3. If you make your bed each morning you already are in a very elite minority! Not only will it make your room look clean, but it will help you develop skill sets that will be noticed elsewhere. (Hint! Hint!)

4. Have a process for everything. The last time we checked they were not yet smart enough to invent clothes that washed, organized or ironed themselves. So YOU need to take care of the laundry logistics.

5. Take pride in being known as someone prepared for anything. Keep an overnight kit for guests such as packaged toothbrush and extra towels. You never know when this might come in handy.

6. Now for some designer touches for those willing to spend a bit for the look:

i. Framed black and white prints on your walls.

ii. Big sofa, big TV, speakers (Entertainments spaces generally have high priority)

iii. Games, gym items and gadgets!
